How to remove borders in tables and insert some borders back in the table

Some tables do not need borders, so you need to know how to remove them. Also, there are some instances in which you only need a couple of borders on the table, but not the entire table. I am going to demonstrate below how to do it.

1. First, you need to select the whole table by clicking the little box in the left hand corner of the table.

2. With the table still selected, click the border drop-down box under the design tab.

3. Under the border drop-down box, click no border to remove all the borders from the table. It will make the outline of the table dotted to show you removed the borders.

4. To add some borders back to the table you can do it a couple of ways. You can select the table and on the design tab select the border drop-down box. There you can add a border to the bottom, top, left, right, outside border, inside border, and many more.

5. You can also add some borders by selecting the table and clicking border painter on the design tab. You can then click which line you want to have a border. Below, I used the painter to make a border under the title and subtitle.

These are a couple of ways to remove borders and add some borders back in the table.☺
